JOB SUMMARY: This position is part of the Enabling Science and Partnerships Divisions, Office of Science - Headquarters, Department of Energy. As a Nuclear Engineer, you will be serving as a Program Manager for the Fusion Nuclear Science program in the fusion nuclear science research portfolio which includes blanket, fuel cycle, and neutronics in the development of fusion energy. MAJOR DUTIES: As a full performance level, Nuclear Engineer you will: Serve as a Program Manager for the Fusion Nuclear Science (FES) research portfolio to include the Blanket and Fuel Cycle Fusion Innovation Research Engine (FIRE) Collaborative. Monitor and assess fusion nuclear science and technology progress to include breeding blankets, fuel cycle research, and neutronics. Represent Fusion Energy Science in inter-agency partnerships such as the nuclear data group and Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Develop Notice of Funding Opportunity and Funding Announcements, conduct peer reviews, and prepare funding recommendations.
