JOB SUMMARY: The typical seasonal period for these positions is May thru November, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: May 2025 MAJOR DUTIES: This is an open continuous vacancy announcement. Applicants will be referred periodically throughout the announcement period. Works with and assists in the guidance, training, and safety of laborers, volunteers, and Acadia Youth Conservation Corps under the leadership of a Trail Work Leader, Trail Supervisor, or a WG-4749-08 Maintenance Worker. Employee is engaged in all aspects of trail maintenance, construction, and repair including drainage and tread maintenance, masonry dry stone construction, and carpentry work using heavy log and rough-sawn lumber, for repair of trail structures, and rehabilitation of all trails. Uses small equipment, loaders, atv, etc., and drives crew cabs, trucks, and passenger vans up to but not exceeding 10,000 GVW to transport crew and or materials to the job site.
