JOB SUMMARY
|
The Battery Division Manager will oversee and lead all the activities of the Battery Service Division.
This role provides directions and focus to the technicians in that department. It is their responsibility to assist in developing strategies for delivering excellence in service while accomplishing these and other company goals.
The Manager will also work with the Sales Manager to develop and pursue new accounts, increase service and equipment sales, and generate battery equipment sales leads to help grow the battery division.

JOB DUTIES

- Work with leadership to establish and track Battery Division goals and objectives
- Assist the Service Director in developing service delivery strategies. Provide input on pricing, quality enhancement, industry trends, and conditions related to this department.
- Train departmental personnel as necessary and recommend training programs.
- Take service calls and schedule services
- Provide guidance, counsel, and directions to all Battery Service Technicians.
- Set the limits for the activities of the Battery Service Technicians so that the company may proceed towards established objectives without undue involvement by the Service Director in the day-to-day activities
- Aid Sales staff with in developing estimates and finalizing quotes
- Take reasonable action to carry out the responsibilities of management, so long as such action does not deviate from established company policies and is consistent with business judgment.
- Recommend hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, or disciplining all staff reporting directly to the Battery Division Manager
- Evaluate departmental personnel according to the schedule established by company policy. Issue warnings for violations of company policy or substandard performance as necessary. Discuss with the Service Director any employees who are being considered for termination. Recommend wage changes for the departmental staff
- Conduct regular 1:1 meetings with direct reports to ensure open two-way communication and address performance issues as well as employee concerns.
- Enforce company policies and procedures within the department, including safety and asset security
- Ensure collectability of Accounts Receivable verifying the customer is in good credit standing with JIT before dispatching technicians.

EXPERIENCE
|
- At least three years of Industrial Battery sales or management experience
|
EDUCATION
|
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Business Administration or related field, or comparable record of sales leadership experience

CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES

Valid NYS driver's license
