District 08- South Region - 715/2381 Banning Landscape
Under the direction of a Caltrans Maintenance Supervisor, Leadworker or other qualified crew member, the Caltrans Equipment Operator II operates a variety of maintenance, construction and landscape equipment. Required to have and maintain a valid, unrestricted Class "A" Commercial Driver's License with Tank Vehicle (N) Endorsement, and current medical certificate, while performing duties associated with Illegal Encampments removals and maintaining the State highway system and all its facilities. Under certain conditions, you may be required to work an alternate work shift that includes weekends. May be required to work overtime including nights, weekends, and holidays. May be required to work temporary and/or intermittent varied work shifts, and may respond to emergency calls. May be loaned to other cost centers. This position is represented under collective bargaining.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Caltrans Equipment Operator II Exam. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Must possess a valid and unrestricted class A commercial driver’s license with tank (N) endorsement and current medical certificate.
