GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT I (37000470)
The Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Recreation and Parks, Bureau of Natural and Cultural Resources is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the GOC I (Administrative Assistant).
This position Performs professional accounting work by designing, implementing and maintaining accounting and budgeting records and procedures for FPS Bureau of Natural & Cultural Resources (BNCR). Maintains an accounting system(s) for Operating & Fixed Capital Outlay (FCO) budget categories for all units within BNCR.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Administration / Office Management
Assists the office staff in conducting daily administrative activities and tracking special projects or activities within the Bureau of Natural and Cultural Resources (BNCR) and the Office of Park Planning (OPP). Submits recommendations to the bureau chief concerning office efficiency, equipment needs and staffing requirements.
Bookkeeping
Performs accounting/bookkeeping work by developing, implementing, and maintaining accounting and budgeting records and procedures for BNCR and OPP.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Bookkeeping principles, practices and procedures.
- Standard business formats and styles for letters and business forms.
- General office procedures and practices.
- Principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communications.
Knowledge of and skill in:
- Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
Ability to:
- Communicate clearly in writing.
- Organize files and records (paper and digital).
- Solve problems.
- Work independently.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar.
- Type letters, memoranda and other standard business forms in correct format.
