The Florida Department of Environmental Protection is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and well-organized individual with strong training program and professional development skills for the Division of Recreation and Parks.
Florida State Parks span the entire state with 175 state parks and trails, the only state park system in the United States to be recognized four times with the gold medal award. This position’s focus includes statewide training and meeting development and facilitation.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
- This position assists with:
- Training and meeting facilitation, including Florida Park Service Orientation, Ranger Academy, FPS Leadership Academy, Park Managers Meeting, Assistant Park Managers Meeting, Resource Managers Meeting, Interpretive Chairpersons Meeting, Concessions Meeting, CSO Meeting, Administrative Assistants Meeting and Certified Interpretive Guide Training.
- Inventory management and maintenance of training technology equipment and other supplies.
- Training and meeting planning and logistics.
- Using the Learning Management System (LMS) for statewide training tracking and management.
- Designing, developing and delivering training and professional development programs.
- Evaluating training effectiveness and recommending improvements as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of:
- Principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication
- Principles, methods and techniques of successful training and professional development programs
- Use of current media and technology in training programs
Skilled in:
- Effective public speaking
- Development and management of division-wide initiatives
