Cabinetworks Group has an opening for an Environmental/Health & Safety Specialist in the Middlefield, Ohio location.
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for developing and implementing all aspects of a viable, proactive, and positive safety environment to include safety, environmental, and workers health issues.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and upkeep a documented safety process to include safety committees, training programs, and personal protective equipment selections.
Maintain an emergency evacuation plan and response station within a vertically integrated manufacturing facility.
Implement and govern all agency mandated training, report generation, data collection, and required testing procedures to meet requisite schedules ensuring compliance.
Coordinate with all employees communications related to preventative safety, health, and environmental issues.
Ensure compliance for all activities including permit mandates related to environmental and maintenance of ISO certifications.
Coordinate all activities to establish best practices in work place safety.
Provide training necessary to demonstrate compliance needs as well as safe operations of the facility.
Coordinate investigations for work place accidents, injuries, and managing the documentation filing process for workers compensation as established by state regulations. Negotiate employee’s satisfactory return to normal work. Document the employee’s ability to perform work, and monitor progress if unable to work.
Design and implement an ergonomically efficient work place in a cost effective manner.
Communicate and interact with members of both the production and leadership team to understand the importance of equipment, process, and work-flow design to ensure employee safety and efficient production.
Prioritize and implement corrective and preventative measures.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Bachelor degree in a technical, scientific, or related field.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) certification.
3-5 years of related experience with increased responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience with principles of ISO quality standards.
Proven experience with continuous improvements and start-up operations.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Experience working in a manufacturing setting.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
