The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager oversees and manages all environmental, health and safety programs within a facility that contains office, laboratory, and manufacturing functions. This role is responsible for developing policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the safety of all employees, contractors, vendors, etc. The EHS Manager will develop, oversee training, and recommend specific environmental health and safety related programs and activities. All while understanding and following corporate and government regulations and guidelines.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitor and maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local EHS laws.
- Subject matter expert providing analytical and technical guidance related to OSHA, DOT, EPA standards, process safety, and LOTO.
- Engage with both plant and corporate leadership in building strategic plans to energize associates in safety and environmental improvement.
- Develops and implements strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety.,
- Establish and manage expense and capital budgets for EHS department.
- Evaluate existing and develop new safety training needs within the organization.
- Assists with Workers Compensation injury review, investigation, and corrective actions.
- Maintain environmental and health/safety records.
- Collaborates cross functionally to ensure effective equipment guarding, design, installation, and compliance.
- Analyzes data regarding performance against organizational metrics, incident trends, serious incidents, regulatory and legal issues.
- Adapt and implement corporate environmental, health and safety policies.
- Analyze the impact of safety and environmental compliance on proposed projects.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Provide leadership and management to support EHS staff.
- Consistently models the Company Values and Expected Behaviors.
- Other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree: Occupational Safety & Health or equivalent.
- ASP/CSP highly preferred.
- 5-10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Is organized and self-motivated for excellence.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems with data driven approach and root cause analysis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong math skills and excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, organization, and time-management skills. Statistical knowledge and aptitude.
- Ability to work well with both technical and non-technical associates.
