The Environmental, Health, & Safety Specialist will ensure environmental compliance matters, including periodic inspections, sampling, and reporting, are completed according to schedule. Support the EHS Manager on environmental health & safety matters. Identify training needs and deliver to department employees. Conduct and maintain reporting as needed for the PLZ Team.
Key Responsibility:
- Interact with all departments to lead EHS issues, with an emphasis on environmental compliance; including RCRA waste management, SPCC Plan compliance activities, SWPPP compliance activities, UST compliance requirements
- Support implementation of corporate environmental policies and programs.
- Perform environmental incident investigations and assist in corrective actions.
- Deliver environmental compliance training as required,
- Perform regular assessments and audits of environmental protection programs and recommend preventative/corrective actions where EHS hazards exist.
- Maintain EHS records, KPI data, Site EHS CAPA and Network EHS CAPA on the Velocity EHS platform.
- Participate in external audits concerning environmental compliance.
- Act as resource for RMP program compliance.
- Encourage and promote good environmental practices.
- Support continuous improvement on all aspects of environmental health & safety.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with focus in environmental engineering (preferred), environmental science or health and safety.
- Minimum of 3 years related experience in the EHS capacity in an industrial environment preferably within process manufacturing, petrochemical or chemical manufacturing.
