Why should you join our team?
Join the Innergex Asset Management team, whose mission is to ensure that all key aspects of asset operations in terms of financial performance, contract management, risk mitigation, and performance optimization are being addressed by maintaining a multi-disciplinary approach and matrix management. You will report to the Senior Director – Asset Management and will be responsible for overseeing and supporting our BC operating assets primarily focused on utility-scale hydroelectric facilities and transmission lines portfolio.
Your day-to-day!
- Monitor and manage key aspects of +20 sites, +800 MW portfolio, of operating renewable energy assets across multiple territories in BC;
- Work in conjunction with the operations department to understand operational challenges;
- Maximize revenue production by providing value-driven performance optimization solutions and evaluating performance analytics;
- Manage and optimize contractual and commercial relationship with multiple stakeholders, O&M service providers, and third-party vendors that are involved with your portfolio.
Asset Management:
- Act as a liaison between the operations team and the corporate accounting department;
- Collaborate with development and construction teams providing knowledge and shaping project-specific contractual requirements, obligations, and opportunities;
- Maintain key external stakeholder relationship;
- Assume leadership and act as a key contributor in the decision-making processes and business case initiatives by collaborating and supporting the cross lines of services;
- Review energy production and related offtake agreements (Electricity Purchase Agreements) and compare to expectations or baselines;
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor, and vendors;
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and various agreements and ensure that administrative procedures meet the requirements;
Financial:
- Analyze monthly and annual financial statements for all assets/companies in the portfolio;
- Lead the preparation of the annual budget planning exercise, perform and present monthly variance analysis to department leads;
- Work in collaboration with various accounting teams for month-end and quarter-end processes;
- Participate and monitor the financial performance to present internally to department leads, along with key external stakeholders;
- Ensure that quarterly and year-end closing procedures are accurate and within deadlines;
Your skills, our requirements!
- Bachelor’s degree in a pertinent quantitative discipline and a minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in a similar position;
- Professional designation (such as CPA, P. Eng., MBA, etc.) is a plus;
- Demonstrated interest and knowledge in renewable energy;
- Capacity of extracting value from key contractual and business relationships and negotiate under grey areas;
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple topics among various projects and stakeholders while getting to the essential and leveraging internal experts for sound decisions;
- Exceptional analytical skills and experience in creating and managing budgets;
- Particularly strong at optimizing assets’ performance and processes’ efficiency;
- Dynamic interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to concisely frame issues by providing context, analysis, recommendations and risk/benefit tradeoffs, both in written, verbal, and presentation format;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, experience with PowerBI and Tableau is a plus.
Additional considerations!
- The position could be based at the company’s Vancouver office.
- This position is a P4 level with a base salary of $100,000 to $135,000, exclusive of fringe benefits and/or potential bonuses.
