Responsibilities
- Your first main objective would be to prevent bugs and rework by setting quality expectations with developers in terms of what they need to test for each feature they are about to start developing. Together with the developers, you would be analyzing and clarifying requirements and preparing test cases that would drive confirmatory testing done by developers. You would be a buddy to your developers, helping them deliver working software efficiently without unnecessary delays (rework, bug fixing) caused by a lack of understanding of what the requirements are about and how they should be tested.
- Your second main objective would be to discover issues with software beyond the scope of confirmatory testing (beyond known acceptance criteria) by performing exploratory testing. With limited capacity, you would need to prioritize which product areas you exploratory test based on risks.
- Your third main objective would be to perform manual regression testing of product releases - features that are not (fully) covered by automated tests.
- And other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong team spirit, communication, and people skills. A desire to work collaboratively with others, to help them and enable them to produce better results together.
- Strong analytical thinking and learning mindset so that you are able to understand business requirements and identify relations and gaps.
- Organization skills, proactive and self-driven attitude, flexibility, and time management skills so that you are able to independently:
- create and maintain test cases - for a given SW feature, clearly capture what should be tested (and how) and what is the test automation coverage,
- track what your colleagues are working on and predict when your involvement is needed,
- prioritize your work based on value and risks,
- switch between supporting multiple developers (and products) on an ad hoc basis.
- English on at least B2 level, so that you are able to understand written and spoken business requirements and clearly discuss them with Product Owners and developers.
- Enough experience in Quality Assurance so that you are certain it is something you enjoy doing and something you are good at.
- Ability to work twice a week from the Ostrava office.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal
