Job Summary
This position reports to Senior Manager Energy APAC and is responsible for supporting delivery of Equinix Global Energy and Sustainability strategy in APAC. The role will be part of the team leading the Equinix Energy Procurement and Sustainability program and will work globally with other project teams and stakeholders to provide strategic support and leadership to deliver the program in APAC.
The role is global in nature which entails heavy collaboration with teams and consultants across various countries and time zones. This may require early morning or evening zoom calls, but the expectation is that youll always maintain a healthy and sustainable work-life balance.
Travel will be occasional (10-20% of the time) and domestic and international.
Responsibilities
- Day-to-day program and project management of key energy and renewable energy workstreams across areas such as offsite PPAs, onsite PPAs, environmental commodities (RECs, GOs, etc.) and distributed energy technologies (fuel cells, batteries, etc.)
- Provide analytical support in assessing renewable energy PPA opportunities across the regional including performing market analysis of sustainability products to meet global goal
- Manage a variety of consultant relationships and coordinate with key internal stakeholders (accounting, treasury, finance, legal) to obtain the necessary buy-in and approvals
- Negotiate complex and high-value renewable energy agreements (PPAs) with the support of internal and external counsel
- Develop marketing material and presentations for distribution to internal sales teams, executive leadership, and customers
- Provide analytical and research support in development and management renewable energy procurement strategy to support overall long-term corporate sustainability objectives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline required
- 3+ in renewable energy experience in procurement, origination, or project management
- Knowledge of offsite and onsite PPAs, environmental commodities (RECs, GOs, etc.), carbon offsets, batteries, and fuel cells
- Broad understanding of Power Purchasing Agreements (PPAs) in APAC including experience with financial modelling & analysis of PPAs
- Experience negotiating complex agreements with the support of internal and external legal counsel
- Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with the local and international teams within the company
- Demonstrated ability to work and learn independently, with guidance and direction from manager
