Job Summary:
Responsible for the oversight of daily shipping operations, coordinating and directing the activities of the receiving docks and ensuring all inventory is accurately received, shipped, and inventoried. This role will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager.
Required Education/Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience in inventory management and logistics management control.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Technical diploma in a relevant field is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint
- Database knowledge is preferred – AS400, SAP, Oracle a plus.
- General knowledge of TMS.
- General knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish work schedules and procedures and coordinate workers’ activities to ensure optimal shift logistics.
- Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels to meet operational requirements and maintain accuracy through cycle counts, control systems and forecasting.
- Ensures compliance to existing work instructions; facilitates continuous improvement initiatives & takes the lead on new program implementations.
- Meet regularly with team members collectively to monitor progress towards meeting objectives, tracking performance, coach, and counsel as well as recognizing team and individual successes.
- Perform required Oracle & AS400 entries related to warehouse inventory.
- Ensures all health and safety policies and procedures are adhered to, and proper training provided.
- Ensure compliance to the CBA.
- Ensure employee records and shipping reports are maintained.
- Monitor quality of finished product packaging and correct problems as required.
- Supervising internal along with any third-party external drivers onsite and monitor daily workload compared to expectation.
- Work rotating shifts when required.
- Responsible for all incoming shipments, including receipt of the correct billet.
- Responsible for all scrap disposition and accurate maintaining log of all outbound & inbound BOL’s.
- Month-end follow up with all metal suppliers.
- Enter requisitions for Maintenance Dept, office and plant supplies (i.e. janitorial, safety PPE, toner, paper) Monitor and deliver supplies received as required.
- Maintains supplies for the receiving area.
- Maintains the East side dock area.
