The VP, Health, Safety, Quality & Environment (HSQE) is responsible for the strategic development, implementation, oversight, and leadership of the HSQE vision, strategy, and culture across the organization.
Summary:
The VP, HSQE will be an integral part of driving a culture of safety and the continued
implementation, performance, evaluation, and maintenance of a long-term strategy, working directly with the Chief Operating Officer (COO,) Accountable Lead Managers (ALMs,) and Sr. Vice Presidents (SVPs) of Operations. This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO,) with functional reporting relationship to RES Group HSQE Director.
Requirements:
- Leads HSQE in developing, implementing, measuring, and sustaining programs, standards, processes, and initiatives.
- Identifies best practices and risks, along with preventative and correction measures.
- Provides strategic leadership and guidance to promote a “don’t risk it” culture throughout the organization. Engages with all levels, including executive leadership, project managers, and frontline employees to cultivate a shared commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, integrating planning across all phases of work including project planning and execution.
- Assesses HSQE performance and drives continual improvement by rationalizing improvement opportunities with business strategy and championing improvement projects or programs to address opportunities in partnership with business leaders.
- Pursues and actively seeks to improve and discover opportunities for adherence. Ensures the establishment and maintenance of HSQE methods for processes and procedures, accurate records management, and precise reporting.
- Provides leadership and oversight regarding federal, state, and local HSQE regulations governing the construction industry. Collaborates closely with construction leadership and clients regarding quality assurance and control criteria.
- Supports annual financial expectation by driving implementation of strategic initiatives to achieve objectives, identifies elements of change required to support strategy, encourages site leadership teams to balance short term demands with long term benefits of strategic initiatives.
- Operates Company aligned vehicle for project site visits and business travel.
- Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
- Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
- Participates in the RES Group HSQE leadership committee monthly.
- Participates in the executive leadership teams (CLT, ELT & SLT) meetings.
Safety:
- Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
- Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working.
- Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors.
- Adheres to and ensures all site team members understands standard operating procedures.
- Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in safety, quality, environmental, or industrial hygiene or a related field required.
- Master’s degree in health and safety field, quality, environmental, or industrial hygiene preferred.
- Certification in safety, health, quality, environmental or industrial hygiene preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of HSQE experience required (construction related environment is preferred).
- Travel domestic and internationally 31%-50%.
- Valid driver’s license required.
Location:Denver, CO
Anticipated base salary range:$221,000 - $260,000
The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
