DescriptionIf you’re ready to change the way the world moves, join us at BlueOval Battery Park Michigan, a new state-of-the-art facility in Marshall, Michigan. You’ll be a key part of the launch team that will help bring the electrification revolution to driveways, job sites, and highways everywhere. BlueOval Battery Park Michigan will produce the lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery cells to power the next-generation Ford EV passenger vehicles and trucks under development. This new wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company will create more than 1,700 jobs when production begins in 2026. This role will start remote and then will be working hybrid out of Marshall with expectation to be on-site at Marshall once building construction and timing is established (relocation package available).

ResponsibilitiesYou’ll also…
- Develop and own lean manufacturing tools such as Value Stream Map, Heat Maps, Balance Charts and Headcount Planning Charts.
- Lead continuous improvement activities and events, leveraging Kaizen Events and other industry tools.
- Drive cost optimization through Labor & Overhead analysis and projects to improve overall efficiency.
- Lead the team to complete the KPI goals undertaken by the department, and set a clear, specific and logically consistent action path according to the constraints to ensure the achievement of the KPI goals.
- Identify and bring up issues affecting business and management efficiency, and take measures and actions to improve the quality and efficiency of work and continuously optimize.
- Lead and manage all aspects of internal Industrial Engineering (IE) operations, including strategic planning for factory capacity upgrades and new line construction in new facilities. Responsibilities encompass performance management of departmental teams, CAPEX budget oversight, implementation of lean manufacturing principles, digital factory construction, personnel recruitment, and reporting to senior leadership.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by leading and managing strategic projects aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and profitability. This includes initiatives focused on capacity enhancement, process optimization (using methodologies such as SMED, VSM, and lean), layout improvements, cost reduction, logistics optimization, and OEE maximization. Successful project deployment across the organization is critical.
- Monitor progress of key projects, resolve project problems, and coordinate the resources inside and outside the department to provide necessary support for the implementation of the project.
- Develop department business capacity (cross-department and cross-company cooperation) and build a departmental talent development and training system.
Collaborate closely with leadership, attending key meetings to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives. Translate high-level directives into actionable plans and tasks for successful implementation at the local level.
QualificationsYou'll have...
- Bachelors' degree or higher, major in industrial engineering, mechanical design and automation, automation, electricity, etc.
- At least 6 years working experience in industrial engineering and lean production.
- At least 2 years' experience in team management and target management.
- Set a clear, specific and logically consistent action path based on goals and constraints.
- Be able to praise, recognize and encourage team members to work efficiently in a positive atmosphere.
- Be familiar with the personal characteristics of team members, know the areas and shortcomings they are good at, let team members match the job requirements, and give full play to their advantages and talents.

You will continue to be employed by Ford Motor Company but work for BlueOval Battery Michigan LLC, a Ford wholly owned subsidiary located in Marshall, Michigan. You will remain an at-will employee at all times during your employment with Ford or any Ford affiliate or subsidiary with which you later become employed.
