An opportunity has arisen for a Technician – Battery Test (Late Shift)to join the Battery Test department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.
About the role
To carry out the testing of battery packs in the battery pack test facilities within Fortescue Zero. Responsible for various aspects of battery testing including test setup, test containers maintenance and development, following test procedures, generating test data, basic data analysis, and communication with team and respective departments of findings and results.
What you will do
- Set-up and decommission battery packs following the processes in place.
- Operation of the Battery Pack Test facility by performing and completing tests as per the test requests.
- Generation of test data and liaison with respective Project members to discuss test results.
- Maintenance and development of the Battery Pack Test Facilities.
- Creation and upkeep of Standard Work Instructions and H&S documentation for the Battery Test team.
About you
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Hands-on engineering approach
- Previous experience operating test rigs
- Working experience of HV (up to 1kV) systems
- Working experience of Microsoft Office packages (predominantly Word and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Able to complete tasks appropriately as instructed by the area lead personnel
- Highly disciplined and organised
- Must bring a positive “can-do” attitude to working within a dynamic work environment
Advantageous:
- Experience working with CANalyzer and LabVIEW
- Experience in test data analysis
- Knowledge of / familiarity with battery testing, but not essential
