This position is located in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), Office of Observations (OBS), Surface and Upper Air Division (SUAD), Evaluation Branch at the Sterling Field Support Center (SFSC), with one vacancy located in Sterling, VA. MAJOR DUTIES: As a General Engineer, you will perform the following duties: Serves as consulting engineer on projects of major NWS observing systems to support the mission of the Office of Observations portfolio. Serves a test and evaluation engineering subject matter expert (SME) preparing technical analyses, test plans and procedures. Functions as Contracting Officer Representative (COR) Level II for a wide range of essential Branch acquisitions and administration and technical oversight of contracts. Approves purchase card purchases and ensures transactions are completed for official Government business only.
