REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Summary: The Sustainable Community Schools (SCS) Resource Coordinator will facilitate the after-school, morning, weekend, and summer programming at Richard Yates Elementary School. The Resource Coordinator will work closely with the school principal, the PRCC liaison, and the SCS staff. The coordinator will work with teachers, school staff, LSC members, parents, the local community, and students to improve academic outcomes. Essential to the position is recruiting teachers and coordinating activities that help students succeed academically and emotionally. The Resource Coordinator will oversee adult education training for families and engage the local community to bring additional resources to the school. This position has an additional $10,000 compensation to blend SCS services with ISBE 21st Century services. The Resource Coordinator will also manage the budgets of both SCS and ISBE. ISBE will end August 2025 with no further funding in 2026. The Resource Coordinator will follow the CPS Calendar and take all days off that are associated with holidays, winter break and spring break. The resource Coordinator will work the 5 week summer program and will have the first two weeks off in August as vacation time and return to plan the after school program.
Essential duties and responsibilities: Leadership • Participate in the Executive Team meetings with the Principal and LPA liaison. • Organize and convene the SCS Leadership Committee (to include representatives of the school, at least one nonprofit partner, teachers, parents, and community stakeholders). • Ensure the SCS Leadership Committee meets regularly, and needs are being addressed. • Organize and oversee the SCS needs assessment and service plan process. • Seek input from teachers, school staff, LSC members, parents, and students to determine ongoing needs of students and families. Implementation • Identify and recruit people and organizations to offer programs and services for students and families at the school. • Negotiate agreements with people and organizations that provide services. • Work with the SCS Leadership to determine hours of operation, security, and childcare needs. • Develop, maintain, and publicize a schedule of programs and activities offered at the school. • Coordinate and monitor programs and activities. • Implement and maintain a process that encourages referrals to programs and services offered at the school; provides timely feedback to those who make referrals; and alerts the SCS School Leadership Team to the need for programs not already offered. • Facilitate cross-referral of students and families between service providers. • Facilitate ongoing communication between service providers, teachers, parents, and students. • Evaluate and make recommendations of programs to the SCS Leadership Team. • Supervise and evaluate assistant Administration • Assure that all City span programming attendance entry is completed weekly. • Oversee payroll for program with LPA Representative • Purchase/order materials and supplies with LPA Representative • Maintain accurate accounting records. • Make regular reports to the SCS School Leadership Team. • Attend PRCC meetings and events when necessary Supervisory Responsibilities: ? Will supervise administrative assistance ? Will provide feedback to personnel working in the program.

Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree or higher. • Ability to interpret the policies, procedures, and the organizational structure of the Chicago Public Schools. • Three-year experience working with children and/or adults in a nonprofit social service organization. • Background and experience in community organizing. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Bilingual preferred. • Track record of fund raising and program development. • Ability to keep accurate records and prepares reports. • Available to work a flexible schedule that includes an overlapping day and evenings and some weekends. • Valid driver's license and access to an automobile on a regular basis.
