What this job involves
Providing strategic guidance to clients to help implement decarbonization projects and strategies
Manage client engagements focused on developing decarbonization strategies, quantifying potential impacts in climate-based scenario models, target/goal setting, reporting greenhouse gas emissions, and leading the solution development effort for emissions-based challenges.
Responsible for the successful development and delivery of all activities related to assigned engagements with the support of a dedicated delivery team.
Support client relationships and business development efforts such as proposal development, identifying target clients, and developing solution-based service delivery strategies.
Collaborating effectively with other JLL service lines on the account (Real Estate, Finance, Projects, FM and procurement) to deliver an integrated energy and sustainability solution to the client.
Maintaining strong relationships and an appropriate governance structure with key client stakeholders.
Delivering and overseeing accurate and timely critical reporting, including internal, corporate and legislative reporting requirements
Delivering and overseeing other sustainability initiatives such as green leases and waste reduction.
Delivering cost savings across the portfolio.
Coordinating effectively with the client to secure funding and approvals for projects, and liaise with project managers, designers and consultants to ensure works are delivered to a high standard, and that savings are achieved as anticipated
Effectively tracking and communicating success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall energy and sustainability program.
Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively.
Providing strategic direction and guidance on ways to enhance and expand service delivery to the client, including leveraging supply chain partners, internal collaborations and the broader Energy and Sustainability Services team, to ensure that the client is well placed for long-term growth and success in the energy and sustainability area
Development and implementation of a Sustainability Management Plan (SMP), including legal compliance, risk management, internal reporting of energy efficiency, water use, waste and recycling and sustainable procurement.
Development and delivery of training and educational materials based on JLLs best practice knowledge from around the world. The Regional Sustainability Lead will be an on-call resource for stakeholders to direct questions around implementation of sustainability and environmental obligations.
Ensuring that all activities under our operational control are conducted and operated in accordance with relevant environmental legislation and/or guidelines. Additionally, the Regional Sustainability Lead shall periodically monitor risks that may be outside of operational control to ensure that environmental risks are under adequate control.
Interested? An ideal candidate would need to have the following qualifications
Desired experience and technical skills
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
LEED AP, CEM, WELL AP, or other related credentials
Approximately 10+ years of applicable experience
Highly entrepreneurial, agile, organized with strong analytical skills
Knowledge of design, construction, commissioning, MEP and BMS systems in buildings, retrofits, and construction of tenant spaces
Knowledge of technologies for energy and sustainability initiatives and familiarity with how to develop business case for investment in energy and sustainability technologies and strategies
Experience developing business case for investment in technology or performance optimization (turnkey costs, detailed projected energy savings, ROI, IRR, etc.)
Working knowledge of global/industry ESG trends and their application in commercial real estate
Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients as well as external team members (architects, contractors, client’s representatives, etc.)
Ability to develop and cultivate business relationships with existing and prospective clients
Ability to lead individuals across a national platform to deliver superior results in client service
Experience working with landlords, developers, tenants, real estate investment managers, and institutional owners
