About the workplace
This is a permanent, full-time role that will enjoy hybrid working arrangements which can be fulfilled primarily from the Vancity head office location and your Lower Mainland based home office. Periodically, you’ll be required to attend in-person activities or events.
As a Test Environment Management Specialist, you will ensure that Vancity integrates quality assurance and testing activities throughout its software delivery process to ensure applications meet both functional and non-functional business requirements. You will coordinate the preparation, support, and availability of test environments for both project execution and ongoing operational support.
A typical day would involve:
- Develop and manage test environment strategies, ensuring alignment with project timelines, business goals, software configurations and they meet the requirement of on going test activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (development, testing, infrastructure) to define, set up, and monitor test environments, troubleshooting issues and implementing automated tools for efficiency.
- Communicate environment status, changes, and issues to stakeholders, while driving continuous improvements through best practices, process enhancements, and industry innovations.
- Configure test environments and data to simulate production conditions, while building monitoring systems to track key performance metrics (response times, throughput, resource utilization).
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources for test environments, including hardware, software, and data management.
- Collaboration: Work closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure test environments are aligned with project timelines and deliverables.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement best practices for environment management, including automation of environment provisioning and configuration.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor the performance of test environments and provide regular updates to stakeholders regarding environment status and issues.
- Troubleshooting: Laise with Infrastructure, Network and other teams to Diagnose and resolve issues related to test environments, including software configuration, network connectivity, and data integrity.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of test environment configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure that test environments adhere to security protocols and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot performance issues, continuously refining testing strategies to meet evolving business needs and system architectures.
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a test environment management related role
- Knowledge of integration platforms like Mulesoft is required
- Knowledge of Core Banking applications like T24 will be an asset
- Strong communication skills to convey information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range for the role is $81,200 to $122,000 and a candidate’s offer is likely to be up to the mid-point of the role ($101,600). The upper half of the salary range is typically reserved for individuals who have demonstrated consistent strong performance in the role and possess a high level of job knowledge and skill.
