SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager, Stockroom, the Receiving Associate receives shipments, monitors quality and accuracy of incoming product and data processes paperwork relating to receiving. He/she arranges shipment of outgoing mail and packages and maintains shipping records to ensure accurate inventory counts. The incumbent also provides support to the retail department and supports overall organization objectives and safety objectives in all areas of his/her work.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Ensures that all deliveries, including incoming materials, products, or supplies are received in good order, and include accurate amounts by:
- Verifying actual product against packing slips and receiving reports, confirming product integrity, and recording any discrepancies or damages.
- Contacting suppliers to resolve missed deliveries, short shipments, product quality issues and pricing discrepancies.
- Delivering processed paperwork to Finance and assisting in resolution of discrepancies.
- Coordinating the distribution of product to appropriate departments.
- Maintaining cleanliness of receiving/shipping and storage areas.
- Operating machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner.
- Maintaining organizational safety standards.
Ensures the smooth shipping of items outside of the Aquarium by:
- Coordinating shipping needs for other departments.
- Clarifying shipping process and/or billing needs to complete shipping requests.
- Arranging with various delivery vendors for shipment of packages.
- Maintaining shipping records.
Provides support to the retail department by:
- Ticketing merchandise.
- Assisting with inventory audits.
- Transporting goods between the Aquarium and our offsite storage facilities.
- Performing other similar duties as required.

- Continually improves our impact on the environment and greening of operations through support of EMS protocols.
- Maintains and supports organizational safety standards.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 1 – 3 years of shipping and receiving experience.
- Minimum high school diploma required.
- Knowledge of purchasing, receiving, and shipping methods and procedures.
- Experience with the operation of baler, compactor, and forklift equipment an asset.
- 1-2 years Customer Service experience or equivalent.
- Excellent internal and external customer service and communication skills
- High level of consistency and accuracy with data entry and paperwork
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License
- Excellent judgment and prioritization skills; highly self-motivated
- Basic knowledge of MS Office: Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Knowledge of inventory control management systems an asset.
- Ability to lift and move 20 kgs

- Flexibility and availability in schedule are required during the week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Job will occasionally require long hours during the busy season.
- Ability to work outdoor in all weather conditions
SALARY RANGE: $19 - $25 PER HOUR
