Come work on the Amazon Robotics – Mechatronics & Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Team! We are looking for an outstanding Quality Management System (QMS) Methodologies and Tools Lead, who will be responsible for defining, managing, implementing and maintaining the QMS methodologies, tools and procedures to enable the execution of QA process across the entire the MSP Product Lifecycle. This leader will partner with (1) the internal Customers (Operations, Maintenance, Process, Ops Engineering, etc.) to ensure the QMS tools and methodologies will meet their needs, (2) the QA Execution team to ensure alignment and consistency of the manual, virtual and process validation with the QMS specifications and (3) the QMS Design Manager to ensure the QMS tools and methodologies implementation will adhere with specifications and will include all the relevant procedures and instructions. The primary role of the MSP team is to drive future innovation across all aspects of Mechatronics and Packaging, across industrial hardware/control machines such as robotic cells, autonomous vehicles, sortation, packing technologies and packaging materials. We drive strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as Operations, RME, ACES, Supply Chain, Transportation, WW Design, etc. to ensure we deliver robust products that effectively integrate into the Amazon Fulfillment network. The QMS Methodologies and Tools Lead will be responsible to develop, implement and maintain the MSP QMS procedures and tools, by ensuring the alignment with QA execution team through internal communication initiatives and training, and by gathering the feedback of tools internal users continuously improve their usability and suitability for executing all the product validation activities. A successful candidate will have strong analytical skills combined with business understanding, broad experience and exposure across multiple stake-holders and deep skills in quality management processes and standards and complex systems integration and validation, which include a high degree of ambiguity. They will work successfully across multiple large engineering, testing and operations teams at a strategic level and drive quality across all our Products. This candidate requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, collaboration, analytical and abstract thinking, time management and organizational skills.
Key job responsibilities
•Own MSP QMS tools and methodologies definition and implementation, by ensuring fulfilment of internal customer’s expectations (Operations, RME, ACES, PE, OpsEng, WWDE, etc.) and consistency with the QMS design specifications defined by QMS Design Manager.
• Analyze and perform periodic audits on QMS process implementation.
• Support QMS Design Manager in gathering all the relevant specifications in line with internal policies and applicable quality and design standards.
• Cooperate with QMS Implementation Lead to ensure consistency of QMS Tools and Methodologies with quality and operational auditing, testing and validation procedures.
• Cooperate with MSP Safety and Compliance Team to ensure consistency of QMS implementation with Safety Management System.
• Manage QMS Methodologies and Tools implementation scope, including the definition of standard templates for manual, virtual and process test protocols and procedures.
• Support the adherence of product testing and validation to the QMS processes and procedures.
• Ensure MSP QMS Methodologies and Tools Implementation will comply with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS)
- Proven experience in QMS tools, methodologies and processes definition and implementation for advanced robotics, automotive or mechatronic products.
- Proven capability with quality management commercial tools (e.g., Polarion, TeamCenter).
- Ability to travel up to 75% to business locations and project sites.
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems including robotics, and high speed manufacturing
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members, operations, and management
- Proven capability with virtual testing and prototyping commercial tools (e.g., dSpace, Arena, Matlab/Simulink etc.) for complex products in automotive, robotics or aerospace sectors.
- Strong knowledge of mechatronics and robotics product design and validation methodologies and tools
- Theoretical and hands-on experience on quality auditing, evaluation and quality management system design in accordance with international standards and best practices (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Proven experience in fulfillment systems with storage equipment, material handling systems, automated sortation system, and related automation equipment.
- Knowledge of NRTL and/or CE compliance standards and regulations, auditing and assessment processes, including the definition and execution of quality and safety related checklists for product, factory and operational process inspection (e.g., CIG 023).
- Strong analytical, testing and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience using quality management tools (e.g., Siemens TeamCenter Quality, Polarion etc.) and data-management software.
- Project management skills to plan, execute and complete tasks successfully
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and/or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification.
