KOMAN Government Solutions (KGS) has an immediate need for an Environmental Scientist in Marlborough, MA. The Environmental Scientist will assist with field components of environmental investigation and remediation projects for our federal clients in North Eastern U.S.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support project managers with development of work plans and procurement of subcontractors required for projects (develop subcontractor scopes of work and procurement documents).
- Prepare field forms, equipment, and materials for field work.
- Provide oversight of subcontractors during soil boring, monitoring well installations, geophysical surveys, and land surveying.
- Collect environmental samples (e.g., soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air) for laboratory analysis.
- Perform well development.
- Survey with GPS and laser level and log soil borings and bedrock cores.
- Support operations and maintenance of remedial systems.
- Support report preparation.
- Maintain internal and external client relationships.
- Communicate effectively with project team, customers, and other stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor�s degree from four-year college or university required. Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental or Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- Four or more years of experience in environmental services or remediation with an emphasis on executing field investigations and associated reporting.
- Hands-on experience with environmental compliance with federal regulations (CERCLA, CAA, CWA, SDWA, RCRA (subtitles C, D, X) and/or state regulations (Massachusetts Contingency Plan).
- Experience working for USEPA, Department of Defense and other federal agencies, and New England state environmental agencies.
- Current OSHA 40-hour training for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) and current OSHA 8-hour Refresher HAZWOPER training.
- Ability and willingness to undertake frequent travel (30-60%), including the potential for extended travel (multiple weeks).
- Ability to work overtime and availability outside of normal business hours.
