Job Summary
The M&A Manager will play a key role in identifying, evaluating and executing strategic acquisitions, sell-downs and divestments of utility-scale solar and storage projects. You will work closely with senior management and other functional teams, such as development, commercial, finance, legal, and construction. The ideal candidate has a desire to learn about topics ranging from project development, energy markets, project financing, tax and other topics that impact investments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain unlevered and levered financial models to support investment decisions
- Review internal/external financial models to understand key value drivers and interpret relevant data on markets, competitors and transactions
- Support senior team in the development and negotiation of transaction documents
- Lead and support the due diligence process, including data room management and review of legal documentation, to ensure accurate review of target assets
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for investment approvals. Communicate findings and strategic implications to senior management clearly and effectively
- Manage internal systems for tracking opportunities and deliverables
- Work and coordinate with subject matter experts, investors and external consultants and stakeholders
Location: Houston. TX Office. Hybrid/Remote working may be acceptable for this role. Position may require periodic travel for team meetings, events or determined on an as needed basis.
Travel: ·Willingness to travel approximately 10% for key conferences, transaction related travel, and investor meetings
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics or quantitative field
- 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience at a U.S. solar, wind, or energy storage development company, or Independent Power Producer in an M&A or finance role with specific focus on financial modeling and valuation, or similarly transferable experience
- A motivated self-starter with strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to conduct analytical and financial modeling with high attention to detail
- Capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint are essential
