Description
The Skate Staff will report to the Facilities Supervisor, and they will help maintain a safe and enjoyable ice-skating environment for all users.

Key responsibilities
- Serve as a front-line customer service representative for visitors and other members of the public.
- Clear ice of skaters for ice resurfacing, in coordination with Supervisor/Operator
- Assist Operations staff in performing ice safety protocols, particularly during “floods”, including getting the public off the ice and ensuring the ice is clear for resurfacing.
- Maintain a safe and fun environment for all participants by educating and enforcing skating rules.
- Address and resolve complaints and on-ice issues, with support from the Supervisor.
- Report all concerns, accidents and incidents for follow up by senior staff.
- Assist with general site upkeep as required.
- Assist with first aid procedures as required.
- Help identify issues with ice conditions, if appropriate.
- Ensure the ice is safe at all times, working with Bentway Site Staff to do so.
- Attend meetings and training as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Experienced and comfortable ice skater.
- Great customer service and communication skills, previous customer service experience ideal.
- Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, and weekends
- Experience in a similar public space, recreation or parks environment is ideal.
- Ability to work in varying and extreme weather conditions
- Current standard level First Aid/CPR-C would be an asset.
