Lumina is looking for a Service Technician to support our Residential Team in Maryland.
The Residential Service Technician plays a crucial role in supporting their team by servicing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing residential solar photovoltaic systems. We are seeking individuals with experience in electrical work, installation, and servicing of solar PV systems. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about applying these skills to deliver reliable solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
In this role, you'll get to:
Work with the residential service team to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential PV systems
Complete the installation of products associated with residential PV systems, such as critter guards and EV chargers
Assist residential service team with roof leak investigations and repairs
Perform Removal and Reinstalls of pre-existing installations
Install electrical service equipment, wiring, and devices
Ensure that electrical systems meet company standard job specifications, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and other relevant local codes
Support job safety and overall crew operations, including staging materials, general site work support, site preparation, and cleanup
Accurately document and photograph completed work, complete required paperwork, and submit photos
Provide regular updates on job status to management
Coordinate and communicate with electrical inspectors on project progress
Provide customer support for troubleshooting system issues, and correspond professionally with customers
Maintain material stock and cleanliness of company vehicle
Perform other related duties as assigned to support overall project success
Adhere to all of Lumina’s company policies and ensure that all safety protocols are followed
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
At least 1 year of Residential Solar experience
Proficiency in safely handling power and hand tools, as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, lumber, and roofing materials
Knowledge of electrical systems, both AC and DC, including troubleshooting, wiring, and assembly
Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Ability to troubleshoot electrical installation projects
Experience with roofing repairs and maintenance is a plus
Capability to climb ladders, work on sloped roofs in all weather conditions, and stand for extended periods
Experience and comfort working in attics and confined spaces
Ability to lift 75 pounds repeatedly
Proven track record of reliable attendance
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dedication to maintaining the highest safety standards on every job
Position requires passing a drug screening and background check
A valid driver’s license is required for all positions at Lumina
