How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
You support innovative projects in the field of process development, process analysis and process optimization for technologies of carbon capture. Investigating options based on scientific publications and patents, building thermodynamic simulations, designing and conducting experimental tests, evaluating and reporting the results, validating models, are typical activities in this mission and that you feel enthusiastic about.
You will contribute to the mission through:
Evaluation of new technologies through literature and patent survey complemented by a techno-economic assessment and benchmark to the current state-of-the-art
Data acquisition, aggregation and analysis from pilot and commercial plants and definition of the KPIs (crucial input data) on the plant operation
Thermodynamic modeling of chemical processes using commercial or custom simulation tools
Communication with internal and external collaboration partners for the technology development with an entrepreneur mindset
Conceptual process design and feasibility studies

Are you a match?
Education:
Master’s Degree in Process or Chemical Engineering
In-depth knowledge of chemical process engineering (gas purification, reaction engineering, thermodynamics) ideally complemented by a good understanding of heterogeneous catalysis and kinetics
Expertise in process simulation
Excellent academic record
Competency in simulation tools (e.g. Aspen Plus, gPROMS)
Soft Skills:
Professional appearance and strong communication skills.
Quality oriented with a strong analytical mindset and enjoying to work in international teams
Curiosity and flexibility

You are part of a dynamic and multicultural research team in a group of 25 process and chemical engineers passionate about their work on the development of processes for the Energy Transition and Digitalization, and eager in sharing their know-how and competences. The teams are very connected to other Air Liquide Innovation Campuses worldwide as well as to the business entities in charge of the Engineering, Construction and Operations of Air Liquide commercial plants. Technologies developed are all in link with the three crucial small molecules of the group Air Liquide: H2, CO and CO2.
The VIE position is in the team Industry Decarbonization, consisting of 8 people from different nationalities (a team manager and 7 researchers) all based in the innovation campus Frankfurt.
