We are currently seeking a Project Engineer with Construction experience, to join our team based in Houston, Texas, USA.
About the Job
The position is to be a member of the engineering leadership team charged with successfully executing the engineering, technical and construction readiness aspects of projects. The types of projects executed by Technip Energies include but are not limited to energy transition, petrochemical, hydrogen, carbon capture, and LNG industries. The position will report to the Project Engineering Manager on the specific project. The intent is to fulfil this role on larger Engineering, procurement and construction projects (EPC), However other opportunities on studies and FEED projects the position may function as the overall Engineering Manager. You may also support proposals and small projects on a part-time basis when not deployed full time on a project utilizing your skill set.
You will be involved in the day-to-day coordination and supervision of discipline engineers and designers for one or more bodies of work, modules, sub-units, areas, or disciplines during the engineering phase of the project. This will include the coordination with the procurement team, construction team and project controls team; interface with client, vendors and contractors; and other aspects of Engineer, Procure, Construct, Commission and Start-up projects. You will also be responsible for coordinating and facilitating work executed in Technip Energies offices.
The essential functions of the role are to assure:
- Compliance with HSES and Quality policies
- Compliance with contract related to engineering, design and fabrication / construction
- Complete and accurate engineering, design and construction readiness
- Effective delegation to discipline lead engineers
- Technical compliance of materials and equipment
- Timely support by the disciplines throughout the procurement, subcontracting and construction processes
- Accurate reporting of progress
- Early warning for items that pose a risk to the project; and,
- Adherence to budgets and schedules.
- Assist in development of key strategic and tactical decisions and framing them into the Construction Execution Plan. Provide input on contracting strategies and impacts to the overall engineering
- Participate in constructability reviews, Assessment meetings and Estimate reviews
- Participate in constructability and interactive project planning sessions
- Interface with construction team to ensure adequate or optimum levels of construction coordination is available.
- Liaison with construction stakeholders and customers for improved relationships and synergy.

About You
We’d love to hear from you if your profile meets the following essential requirements:
Qualifications:
- 5+ years as a project engineer, or more senior position responsible for the team producing the technical deliverables on a project as well as involvement in constructability.
- 10+ years engineering and design of petrochemical, refining or LNG projects to US codes and standards
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 2+ years field engineering at a USA construction site or at a module fabrication facility for a petrochemical, refining or LNG projects is preferred
- Relevant experience with modularized engineering and design is an asset
Main Skills:
- Understanding of critical path method scheduling
- Understanding of engineering workflows
- Understanding of engineering to fabrication
- Familiarity with progress and productivity measurement systems
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications
