JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Carlsbad Caverns National Park, in the Division of Administration. MAJOR DUTIES: Plans and carries out difficult and complex assignments in a variety of systems administration areas. Assignments include interpreting IT policies, standards and requirements and modifying and adapting existing methods and approaches, implementing recommendations independently or as a team member, providing advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex IT issues, evaluating and recommending new or enhanced approaches to delivering IT services and analyzing and recommending resolution of complex issues associated with the configuration of IT systems also known as systems administration. Area Information: Carlsbad Caverns National Park is located 27 miles from the city of Carlsbad in southeastern New Mexico. The Park, at an elevation of 4400 feet, has a semi-arid climate with hot summers, mild winters, abundant sunshine, low humidity, and approximately 10 inches of rainfall per year. Carlsbad (population 29,000) has all amenities and services including medical and dental facilities, motels, banks, restaurants, churches, grocery stores, department stores, and several recreation facilities.
