Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry-Level Geologist or Scientist or Environmental Engineer to join our Resilience Environment team in the Northeast. This role offers flexibility, with both full-time and part-time options available.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in providing environmental regulatory compliance assistance and planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
Regulatory compliance assistance will be a key aspect of this position and will offer you an opportunity to learn more about federal, state and local statutes and regulations that apply to US companies. This position will also offer an opportunity to perform fieldwork such as overseeing drilling for soil sampling and groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, regulatory auditing, site inspections, among other tasks. It is essential to conduct all work with a focus on health and safety.
Your core duties will include:
- Prepare applications, reports and other documents related to environmental compliance
- Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda
- Working with digital Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) tools to manage compliance tasks
- Other office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
- Field work may include soil, groundwater, and/or air sampling, site inspections, regulatory audits, and environmental site assessments.
To be successful in this role, you should possess strong written and oral communication skills, be self-motivated, and exhibit independent thinking and have a strong attention to detail. You should be able to work effectively and efficiently in a team setting as well as independently and remotely. Successful candidates will demonstrate their ability to be adaptable, creative problem solvers who can work collaboratively as a team member.
In summary, this position may encompass both office work (task management, data analysis, report preparation, scope preparation, and client communications) as well as some field work. Travel expenses are reimbursable.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
- Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
- Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $52,000- $89,700. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
