We are looking for an "Officer - Vendor Compliance & Sustainability" for our company in Istanbul.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering,
Minimum of 3 years of experience,
Experience in social compliance audits and carbon footprint verification audits,
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills,
Expertise in environmental legislation and regulations,
Certification and experience related to management systems and audit standards (SA8000, SMETA, BSCI, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001),
Experience and knowledge of greenhouse emissions and ISO 14064 (GHG),
No obstacles for traveling,
Fluency in written and spoken English,
Strong cognitive and critical thinking abilities.
Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to sustainability and environmental impact,
Proficiency in project management and sustainability data collection and quality check,
Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team,
Passion for environmental conservation and corporate social responsibility,
Experience in developing and implementing sustainability initiatives and programs,
Strong organizational, planning, monitoring, and reporting skills,
Job Description
Monitor, report, and take necessary actions based on social & environmental performance parameters according to Turkish and international standards/regulations and customer requirements,
Manage environmental processes at the facility and head office (waste, water, energy efficiency, chemical management),
Prepare annual sustainability and activity reports, collect relevant information (KPIs), and draft texts. Manage processes in coordination with departments,
Develop and/or implement sustainability, ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance), and/or decarbonization and net-zero strategies,
Calculate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and participate in verification audits,
Conduct climate risk assessments, develop adaptation plans, and stay informed about climate change policies and regulations,
Conduct on-site social compliance audits and assessments to review labor practices, working conditions, health and safety standards, and environmental impact,
Knowledge of water footprint reporting,
Conduct Integrated Management Systems activities according to ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 standards,
Track legal requirements and ensure compliance with new regulations,
Actively participate in environmental sustainability projects, track national and international environmental sustainability developments, and apply them to the company.
