The project:
This is a large residential community project in Dubai.
Provides support for delivering client-facing consultancy services including the advisory, management and coordination of various climate change, sustainability and/or social value-related activities on projects and/or programmes. Supports Mace’s wider corporate ambitions to reduce client carbon emissions to meet organisational targets.
UAE experience is required to ensure client approval.

You’ll be responsible for:
- Supports the development of client climate change, sustainability and/or social value strategies on individual projects, including agreeing on project outcomes and ensuring delivery by the project team.
- Provides service excellence, delivering purpose-led and measurable outcomes for clients, with a particular focus on climate change, social value, and biodiversity.
- Provides technical expertise and promotes innovation in a particular area of sustainability, such as waste, energy/carbon, water, responsible sourcing of materials, sustainable buildings, etc.
- Provides generalist advice and support to major issues of sustainability with all relevant stakeholders.
- Supports work winning through bid support, innovation, client liaison, and external profile-raising of Mace/Mace services.
- Supports the drive for Mace to be a leader in climate change and sustainability.
- Manages team, and champions career development such that they have the opportunity to work to the best of their potential in a safe and supportive environment.
- Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and shares responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
You’ll need to have:
- A relevant degree qualification.
- UAE experience is required to ensure client approval.
- Previous experience working in a hospital or healthcare facility is essential to be considered for this role.
- Knowledge, understanding and expertise across the fields of environmental and social sustainability.
You’ll also have:
- Membership in APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA, or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
- NZC, scope 1-3 emissions.
- TCFD/TNFD.
- Setting a scope, objectives, targets/industry benchmarks LETI and RICS.
- Building performance standards - Part L and future, standards - EN15978, ISO 14026 Standards PAS 2080 (50, 60, 35), frameworks i.e., UKGBC, SBT, TPI.
- TM 54 and how to use them.
- Embodied carbon and how to drive reductions - LCA - One click.
- Electrification - heating and cooling demand/supply.
- Governance and risk (PMO).
- Interaction at different levels (executive vs project management)/(design team vs supply chain).
- Building sustainability into contracts and procurement.
- Building sustainability into the design process.
- Biodiversity, nature-based solutions, green infrastructure.
- Social value and quantification methodologies i.e., TOMS, V2S, SV portal.
- Sustainability certification i.e., BREEAM, LEED, WELL and etc.
