DescriptionWe are looking for a talented Health, Safety, and Environmental Leader to join our team specializing in Health and Safety in Oshkosh, WI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Relationship Building: Foster strong cross-functional relationships to ensure everyone understands their HSE roles and responsibilities, driving a positive culture.
- Employee Engagement: Involve employees in the development and implementation of HSE programs, policies, and procedures, ensuring their voices are heard.
- Risk Management: Lead hazard identification and risk assessment programs to pinpoint strategic improvement opportunities and compliance gaps.
- Target Setting: Manage planning actions to set and achieve site-specific HSE targets and objectives, ensuring follow-through to completion.
- Support Model Leadership: Implement an effective support model through comprehensive training, skills development, and internal communications.
- Regulatory Interface: Maintain up-to-date support content and interface with external regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily HSE operations, addressing issues related to compliance, risk reduction, incident investigation, and more.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive improvements in HSE performance metrics using a risk-based, data-driven approach, and lead annual management system reviews.
ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Investigate HSE Incidents: Conduct thorough investigations with accurate root cause analysis to implement effective corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Apply HSE Management Systems: Interpret and apply international standards to maintain an effective management system and achieve external certification.
- Influence HSE Culture: Promote positive health and safety behaviors by influencing leaders and employees.
- Manage Complexity: Navigate and make sense of complex, high-volume, and sometimes contradictory information to solve problems effectively.
- Measure and Evaluate HSE Performance: Collect and analyze data to create key performance indicators, evaluate trends, and set improvement goals.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify and prioritize risks, implementing control measures to reduce them as much as possible.
- Manage Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses: Document and manage incidents according to guidelines, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting affected employees.
- Value Differences: Recognize and appreciate the value of diverse perspectives and cultures within the organization.
QualificationsEducation, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent degree required. Health, Safety and/or Environmental degree preferred. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred.
Experience:
- Intermediate level of experience required, including experience in management of health, safety and environmental ISO Standards required. Minimal management experience preferred.
Additional Information/Qualifications:
- Lead our ISO 45001 program.
- Company representative for all activities regarding Environmental, Safety, and Health.
- Track EHS metrics to report out at staff meetings and monthly Operation's Reviews.
- Lead roundtable discussions with all employees to get suggestions and improve company communication.
- Identify and lead process improvements.
- Mentor and train others in the areas of EHS.
- Previous experience is required.
