Your Role:
As the Sales Account Manager – Biochemicals for Japan, you will play a critical role in driving Corbion’s business objectives in line with APAC and global strategies. You will manage premium accounts, collaborate closely with key stakeholders, and deliver exceptional service and sales growth across the biochemicals industry. This is a high-impact role with a focus on customer satisfaction, profitability, and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve Sales Targets: Meet and exceed sales goals by aligning with APAC and global objectives, executing strategic and tactical sales plans in Japan.
- Account Management: Develop and manage strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and stakeholders, ensuring long-term trust and business growth.
- Strategic Execution: Prepare and execute tactical plans aligned with APAC and global strategies to drive revenue and enhance market presence.
- Collaboration: Work closely with regional business development teams, support functions, and global departments (Product Management, Regulatory, Legal) to resolve issues and improve customer satisfaction.
- Negotiation & Profitability: Manage profitability, negotiate sales and pricing contracts, and provide accurate sales forecasts to optimize inventory costs and minimize shipping shortages.
- Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze market and competitor trends, identifying new business opportunities and implementing strategic actions to expand Corbion’s footprint.
- Customer-Centric Growth: Understand customer needs and market demands to foster sustainable business growth. Work to enhance Corbion’s market intelligence and develop growth pipelines.
- Team Collaboration: Share information and work as part of the APAC Biochemicals team and Corbion Japan to drive overall success.
- Reporting: Provide timely reports, including weekly action plans, monthly business reviews, and sales forecasts, using MS CRM and other tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- At least 5 years of experience in the chemical industry, with sales experience. Home & Personal Care (HPC) market experience preferred.
- Proven track record in managing large accounts and achieving sales targets.
- Strong understanding of organic chemistry, along with knowledge of markets such as HPC, agrochemical, CASE, and other chemical sectors.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both in Japanese and English.
- Proactive, solution-driven, and able to travel more than 80% of the time.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM systems, and forecasting tools.
