What you will be doing
The ESG Reporting Sustainability Analyst will play a critical role in managing the integrity and accuracy of ESG data reporting. Responsibilities include reconfirming all data within the Reporting Boundary and developing standard work instructions for data collection. The analyst will also integrate the ESG reporting taxonomy into Nintex and follow up on any outstanding data collection strategies. Key quarterly tasks encompass preparing and validating ESG data, documenting audit trails, uploading information to Microsoft Sustainability Manager, calculating metrics, and generating internal reports while enhancing process efficiency. Furthermore, the analyst will collect year-end KPI data, prepare external ESG reports, assist with general and EU-taxonomy disclosures, consolidate DMA results, and ensure compliance through follow-ups on auditor comments, all while continuously seeking opportunities for standardization, centralization, and automation in reporting processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Collection and Management (Data Collection and Management, Writing standard work instructions for data collection, Including the ESG reporting process taxonomy (level 1, 2, 3, 4 task flows) in Nintex, Follow-up on outstanding items for data collection strategies where the data collection method is manual upload, Collect and prepare ESG data (significant task), Document audit trail and perform controls (significant task), Collecting year-end data (some KPI’s only need to be collected as per year-end).
- Reporting & Analysis (Upload data in Microsoft Sustainability Manager on behalf of data providers located elsewhere, Calculate metrics, Validate metric calculations for completeness and accuracy, Prepare statements: prepare tables with data, Prepare internal ESG reporting, Deliver reporting and collect feedback, Prepare external ESG reporting, Assist ESG reporting director in preparing general disclosures, Assist ESG reporting director in preparing EU-taxonomy disclosures, DMA results consolidation.
- Process Improvement and Compliance (Manage the reporting process efficiency and effectiveness, Continuously improve the data collection and reporting process, Follow-up on comments from the auditor.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG reporting, or corporate social responsibility, preferably in logistics, shipping, manufacturing, or finance.
- Proven track record in preparing and analyzing ESG reports using frameworks
- Experience managing and validating large data sets related to sustainability metrics and performance indicators.
- Familiarity with data management tools (e.g., Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Oracle) for collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects focused on sustainability initiatives and process optimization.
- Solid understanding of financial principles and experience in budgeting or forecasting related to sustainability.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance requirements for ESG reporting.
- Proven ability to collaborate with stakeholders across various levels to advance sustainability objectives.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development in sustainability practices and reporting standards.
