About the Position:
RWDI is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our Environmental Noise & Vibration team in Michigan.This position supports clients across buildings, infrastructure, and industrial sectors.The successful candidate will have several years’ experience working in the environmental noise and/or vibration fields.
The role includes but is not limited to:
- Engaging in peer review, design review, land use and industrial planning and permitting, construction assessments, noise and vibration monitoring, and more
- Applying best practices in analysis and reporting, and supporting more junior staff in doing the same
- Supporting both attended and unattended field measurement programs
- Taking a leadership role on projects to ensure that the team delivers on time and on budget, will following a defined quality assurance process
- Taking a client-focused approach, where your technical skills support the success of your client’s projects
- Supporting projects both large and small across North America
- Dependent on aptitude and interest, the successful applicant may be considered for a supervisory position within the team
Note that practitioners within the NAV team are purely technical.This role does not involve project management.There is, however, substantial opportunity to build relationships with clients and support the project management team.
We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in an applicable engineering discipline and eligibility to register as a PE
- Applicants without PE eligibility, but significant applicable experience may be considered
- Valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to sites as needed both in and around Michigan
Key skills for this role include:
- Experience with noise modelling in Cadna/A, TNM, and STAMSON
- History of environmental noise and vibration measurements with equipment such as Larson Davis 831C and Bruel and Kjaer 2250 sound level meters, and general purpose data acquisition systems
- Strong knowledge local noise and vibration related regulations in North American jurisdictions
