Your Role
As a Sustainability Analyst, it’s your role to work in parallel with our design teams to run various types of sustainability related analyses and to help create bespoke sustainable strategies that improve the environmental performance of our projects. Whether we are refreshing a retailer’s brand, planning a new urban district, or designing a super tall building, we strive to make the everyday places people occupy more inspiring, more resilient, and more impactful. Our strategies aim to address long and short-term environmental impacts, and address resource consumption across comfort, productivity, health and well-being. In this role, you will implement detailed analysis to ensure the integration of the highest performing environmental strategies and refining our processes.
What You Will Do
- Undertake performance analysis including but not limited to embodied carbon/whole-building lifecycle analysis, daylight, energy, and climate
- Facilitate client meetings and workshops to discuss analysis findings, opportunities, and sustainability strategy implementation
- Provide oversight and coordinate integration of BIM, lifecycle assessment, energy modelling, daylighting and other technical analysis in projects
- Coordinate the work of multiple consultants and supervise the work of project team members, including providing training and guidance
- Establish and manage project fees, staffing, and client invoicing
- Ensure quality control and consistency across all projects
- Identify and maintain awareness of current and emerging technologies, tools, and methods as they impact the delivery of green building design
- Track local regulations and incentives and provide guidance to clients
- Ensure sustainable design projects status are integrated into Gensler Digital Library
- Ensure that lessons learned are shared across projects
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in sustainable building, architecture, engineering, interiors or related field, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of post-graduate experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of lifecycle assessment and integration of embodied carbon into sustainability goals
- Strong knowledge of building performance analytics, climatic and passive design principles, and integrative design practice
- Strong knowledge of building systems, project management, and consultant coordination
- Ability to provide technical oversight in other areas of high-performance sustainability a plus (e.g. certification management, specification writing, materials selection, cost and life cycle studies, etc.)
- Experience with organisational carbon foot printing, climate action planning, climate change resiliency assessment, and/or environmental and social governance (ESG) a plus
- Experience with data science and/or data visualisation a plus
- Strong leadership, communication, and relationship management skills
- Innovator, ability to create and successfully implement new programs
- Strong writing, speaking, organisational skills, and technical presentation ability
- Able to mentor, teach and train effectively
- Self-directed and able to synthesize new information quickly
- Detail-oriented and an aptitude for innovation and problem
