We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager/Ecologist in Houston, TX. This position offers a hybrid work schedule of three days in-office, and two days remote/work from home. If you have the desire to solve challenges on a variety of infrastructure projects across Texas and elsewhere, this position might be for you. We routinely work on roadway, aviation, municipal, and projects for private industry.

How will you contribute to the team?
Prepare technical reports and permit applications in support of projects and provides peer reviews of reports prepared by others. Will be expected to contribute to the preparation of local, state, and federal environmental permits and compliance monitoring requirements with a focus on the coastal environment.
Oversee or conduct natural resources field investigations, including but not limited to identification of waters of the United States, including wetland delineations; threatened and endangered species coordination; habitat evaluations; mitigation monitoring; presence/absence surveys, managing construction projects to meet permit conditions; contractor oversight; data entry, processing, and interpretation.
Serve as a mentor to junior scientists to assist in their training and career development. Supervise and review the work of junior professionals, technicians, and others who assist in specific assignments.
Provides the expertise of a seasoned scientist to all conventional aspects of functional area and applies advanced concepts and techniques to unconventional problems.
Will function as individual researcher or technical specialist, carrying out complex or novel assignments requiring the development of new or improved techniques and procedures.
Develops and evaluates plans and criteria in terms of quality assurance or environmental impact.
Prepares or assists with project work plan, scope, schedule and budget, and communicate these to project team members; monitor/manage project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.
What will you contribute?
B.S./B.A. or M.S. in a field of natural resources science; M.S. or graduate level coursework preferred but not required.
This level may be achieved by Scientists with minimum five years' experience since Bachelor's degree, or four years' experience with Master's degree; typical incumbent has six to ten years' experience.
Proven analytical skills, technical writing, computer and communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills; good public speaking ability; knowledge of production support systems such as geographic information systems (GIS). The ideal candidate would have direct experience and knowledge across several Texas ecoregions and be willing to work independently and occasionally remotely from the office.
Demonstrated experience working with the U.S. Corps of Engineers Ft. Worth and Galveston Districts strongly desired, experience with other Districts a definite plus.
Professional registrations – Professional Wetland Scientist or other certification is desirable, but not required.
Ability to work in inhospitable outdoor climates of Texas and the Gulf Coast during all seasons.
Travel will be required (~10%).
Flexible work schedule with an expectation to be in office at least two days a week and potential for increased flexibility depending on proximity to local office.
