Our client is an environmental consulting firm and field-services contractor providing innovative custom and technical environmental solutions in the areas of source evaluation (Emissions Performance Testing), leak detection and repair (LDAR) continuous emissions monitoring (CEMS), environmental construction, and advanced data systems. Additionally, they provide contextual data systems for compliance and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs and satellites (micro-SATS) for greenhouse gas (GHG) detection from space. Founded in 2010, the team recognized the growing demand for environmental regulatory and governance solutions within the energy value-chain. With more than 150 years of combined engineering, project management, mechanical systems, and environmental expertise, they have the capability to assess, design, and implement an array of strategies to address complex projects and operational system limitations.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management:
Investigate quality issues and develop and oversee processes to review quality issues, understand causes and communicate these to the organization to learn and improve.
Develop, in conjunction with manufacturing and engineering, quality standards for inventory spot checks and quality control.
Lead the development and implementation of a robust quality management system to ensure products and services consistently meet or exceed customer expectations.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track quality performance and identify areas for improvement.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a culture of quality excellence.
Health and Safety:
Direct oversight of safety environment at Houston facility.
Develop and oversee comprehensive health and safety policies and procedures that comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations to proactively identify hazards and prevent accidents or injuries.
Provide guidance and support to all levels of the organization in promoting a strong safety culture.
Environmental Management:
Create and implement environmental management programs to minimize the organization's environmental footprint and comply with environmental laws and regulations.
Monitor environmental performance indicators and develop strategies for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices.
Ensure the company's environmental policies align with industry best practices and promote eco-friendly initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up-to-date with local, national, and international regulations pertaining to quality, health, safety, and environmental practices.
Ensure the organization remains compliant with relevant regulations and maintain necessary certifications and permits.
Training and Education:
Develop and deliver training programs for employees to raise awareness of quality, health, safety, and environmental issues.
Conduct workshops and seminars to empower employees with the knowledge and skills required to maintain a safe and environmentally responsible work environment.
Reporting and Analysis:
Prepare regular reports on QHSE performance for senior management and stakeholders.
Prepare regulatory reports and procure any necessary permits.
Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address issues proactively.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to foster strong relationships and promote QHSE best practices.
Represent the organization in industry forums and conferences related to quality, health, safety, and environmental matters.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
Proven experience (8+ years) in leading QHSE functions, ideally in a similar leadership role. In-depth knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO14001, OHSAS 18001), health and safety standards (e.g.,
OSHA), and environmental regulations (e.g., EPA).
Strong understanding of risk assessment and hazard identification methodologies.
Experience in implementing sustainable practices and Environmental Management Systems (e.g., ISO 14001)
. Experience as a Lead Auditor in Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and influence others.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex QHSE challenges.
Demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Certification in relevant QHSE disciplines (e.g., Certified Quality Manager, Certified Safety Professional, Six Sigma, Project Management Professional) is a plus.
Experienced using ISNetworld, Veriforce, customer databases, Microsoft suite proficiency.
Ability to sit for long periods & lift up to 40 pounds
