About the role:
Public Affairs Expert plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategic communication plans, government relations, and public affairs initiatives to promote the company's interests, policies, and initiatives related to solar energy adoption and sustainability within the European Region.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Government Relations and Advocacy: Develop and execute strategies to engage government officials, regulatory bodies, and policymakers to advocate for favorable solar energy policies, incentives, and regulatory frameworks.
2. Legislative Monitoring and Analysis: Keep abreast of legislative and regulatory developments concerning solar energy, assess their impact on the organization, and provide strategic guidance on advocacy efforts.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain relationships with government representatives, industry associations, community leaders, and NGOs to influence policy decisions and foster support for solar energy initiatives.
4. Policy Development and Positioning: Analyze proposed policies affecting solar energy, contribute to the development of advocacy positions, and collaborate with internal teams to align strategies with organizational objectives.
5. Strategic Communication: Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans targeting government stakeholders, industry partners, media, and the public, emphasizing the benefits and importance of solar energy adoption.
6. Public Affairs Campaigns: Plan and execute public affairs campaigns aimed at increasing public awareness, promoting solar energy solutions, and driving community engagement in sustainability efforts.
7. Partnerships and Collaborations: Identify and establish partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including other renewable energy companies, environmental organizations, and academic institutions, to support solar energy initiatives.
8. Compliance and Ethical Practices: Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards in all public affairs and government relations activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Policy, Public Policy, Communications, or a related field.
- Substantial experience (usually 5-8+ years) in public affairs, government relations, or advocacy roles within the solar energy sector or related industries.
- In-depth knowledge of solar energy policies, regulatory environments, and the political landscape influencing the renewable energy sector.
- Exceptional networking, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with government officials, industry stakeholders, and community leaders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities to anticipate policy impacts and drive effective advocacy efforts.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for developing compelling advocacy materials and engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Proven track record of successful advocacy and influencing policy outcomes in the solar energy sector.
