We have an opportunity for a new team member who's a recognized authority in architecting battery and power delivery solutions for PC clients. The architect will apply advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex issues and will directly contribute to the development of innovative solutions and methods.
Responsibilities:
Develops aggressive and optimized battery pack and associated power delivery solutions for new laptops. Includes system floor planning and component and technology selections.
Influences strategic suppliers on solutions that enable delivering differentiated products for HP customers.
Identifies and evaluates new technologies, innovations, and outsourced development partner relationships; creates plans for integration into future HP products.
Leverages domain expertise, business acumen, and experience to influence decisions of executive business leadership and outsourced development partners.
Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with technology and development guidelines and standards; integrates suggestions, updates, and innovations into overall architecture and leads platform architecture process across business.
Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development innovation and excellence.
Education and Experience Required:
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience architecting battery and power delivery solutions for PC clients or consumer electronics.
Knowledge of full PC system dynamics and their impact/interaction with battery solutions.
Demonstrated history of innovation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at business unit and executive levels.
