As an Electrician, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical equipment and lighting systems as well as assisting other with construction and maintenance related projects. To succeed, you will need to be a self-motivated team player and possess great communication skills including the ability to interact with co-workers and guests daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Install electrical equipment in compliance with new construction, facility and exhibit modification codes
- Troubleshoot and prevent maintenance on electrical equipment and lighting systems
- Interact with vendors and sub contractors
- Stay current on all required safety training and follow all policies, particularly related to lockout /tagout
- Maintain electrical equipment and material stock (lamps, ballasts, heaters, breakers, conduit, etc.)
- Oversee lamp recycling and disposal program
- Maintain electrical equipment manuals in an orderly fashion
- Assist other CMS staff as needed
- Work in a manner that fosters and reflects the Aquarium's mission, core values and service standards
Key Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- City of Chattanooga Journeyman Electrician
- Four year electrical apprenticeship or equivalence in trade school or formal military technical training
- Four years' experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction/maintenance
- Ability to read and understand architectural, mechanical, electrical, control drawings, and specifications
- Proven expertise with the installation and maintenance of 480/208/120 volt lighting, power and distribution systems
- Familiar with OSHA required safety protocol as described by NFPA 70E
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to safely lift/carry heavy objects of 50+ lbs.; work from ladders, scaffolds, powered lifts and in confined spaces; pass a physical exam and lung capacity test as required to wear a respirator
-Experience installing and troubleshooting building automation systems, lighting controls, and PLCs
-Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
-Infrared testing of electrical distribution systems
-Phone and data wiring experience
Full-time, hourly; must be able to work weekends and shift work as needed
