Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult is recruiting a Group Finance Manager based from our Glasgow office. This role will ensure there is an efficient financial processing capability within our organisation, that adequate analysis is provided for stakeholders and that the financial reporting outputs are suitable for a maturing business. The role also has management responsibility of the finance team.
What will I do?
- Management of the finance team, ensuring the processing function is carried out accurately and on a timely basis at all times in tandem with taking a lead role in their career development.
- Attend ODSL subsidiary board meetings presenting relevant financial information to enable informed decision making.
- Attend Audit and Risk Committee meetings, recording minutes and offering financial input as required.
- Oversee the production of monthly Group management accounts, offering technical insight and support where necessary.
- Overall responsibility for the production of the monthly performance reporting pack, ensuring relevant content is prepared and socialised in a timely manner to help support constructive monthly performance meetings and aid strategic decision making.
- Produce monthly finance slides and be comfortable presenting at our business update.
- Maintain monthly staff utilisation file and develop KPI metrics to help inform business decisions.
- Prepare 12 monthly rolling group cashflow, ensuring all variances are investigated and understood.
- Management of the corporation tax compliance process, including preparation of information required by the Group tax advisers and responsibility for tax accounting and payments to HMRC.
- Prepare annual budgets and maintain reforecast file as appropriate in readiness for review by Group Financial Controller.
- Produce and maintain company internal staff, overhead and facility rates ensuring compliance with funding regulations at all times.
- Develop project portfolio methodology and offer valuable insight for investment committee decision making.
- Maintain the integrity of all ledgers and balance sheets through oversight of key financial controls, including profit and loss analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Overall responsibility for the integrity of the monthly revenue recognition process, ensuring adherence to FRS 102 revenue recognition guidelines.
- Develop strong working relationships across the business with a view to improving the quality of financial information, through ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of delivery.
- Overall responsibility for credit control and management of aged debt balances, reviewing aged debt with team leader and offering support as required.
- Review and authorisation of weekly payment runs.
- Regular VAT checks on all processing, ensuring accurate treatment with any errors corrected immediately.
What are we looking for?
- Qualified Accountant – minimum 5 years PQE.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A keen eye for attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
- Team player with confidence to work with colleagues across the organisation at various seniority levels
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Sage Intacct experience, not essential but highly desirable.
