About the Role:
In this exciting opportunity as a Full Stack Software Engineer II, you will be working closely with the product team to deliver cutting edge tech solutions within the Solar team. By leveraging our Python-based microservices ecosystem and React-based web applications, the Solar team is responsible for ingesting, analyzing, and delivering data for over 100 GW of solar systems a year. You will be asked to build systems that scale to analyze millions of solar panels a day and render the results in a highly performant web application (based on Deck.GL). We use a variety of event-driven (Kafka) and REST (FastAPI) based backends to process, serve, and automatically analyze data. You will be responsible for developing applications which span the entire stack, from GPU accelerated web applications, to hyperscale geospatial processing systems.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with our product and design teams to build new features quickly and sustainably
- Rapidly develop proof of concepts to support new inspection technology (i.e. Drone in a Box)
- Build and scale microservices to support rapid growth in inspections
- Break down ambiguous problems and implement solutions that span the entire stack
- Analyze and optimize UI and application code for efficiency and performance
- Provide end-to-end support for our existing web applications
- Contribute to shaping the product with research and ideas
Required Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience working within a full stack software engineering role
- Proficient coding in both Python and React
- Experienced with REST APIs (i.e. FastAPI, Django, Flask)
- Comfortable with event-driven systems (i.e. Kafka, PubSub, SQS)
- Skilled in working with unit and/or integration testing
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience working with geospatial data
- Postgres/PostGIS
- Deck.GL (web based geospatial visualization library)
- FastAPI
- Kubernetes/Docker
- GraphQL
- Computer Vision (i.e. OpenCV, Structure from Motion)
