Business Controller

As Business Controller you are part of the financial reporting processes across HE and are responsible for steering and developing corresponding reports, processes, systems, controls, and policies in this area. The purpose of the position is to translate financial, operational and commercial information into business information with impact. Key levers are strong analytic skills and the ability to communicate clearly to key stakeholders. You will report to the Director Controlling & Reporting, and you will work in a team with highly competent and engaged reporting specialists/controllers.
Work location is Oslo or any of extrusion locations in Europe.
Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:
- Gather and analyse important business data and create reports
- Develop improvements in reporting process, policies and analytics (i.e. KPI’s, reports, etc.)
- Act as a reliable and service-minded business partner for reporting
- Coordinate and communicate reporting instructions, processes, and deadlines
- Prepare HE consolidated reporting packages, including contributions to Hydro’s external quarterly and annual reporting
- Contribute to forecasting, performance, and deviation analysis. This position will be instrumental in building up performance “league-tables” for value-drivers across all plants in HE
- Improve process maturity (standardization, monitoring and optimization) of reporting
- Contribute to standardization and automation of reports and processes
- Support in quarterly Accounting Issue process (coordination, preparation and follow up of Accounting issues)
Desired competencies
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with accounting and/or controlling, financial reporting and the use of financial systems from an international/industrial company, preferably extrusion companies
- Master’s degree, preferably in business administration, professional accounting or similar
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to sanity-check financials and explanations
- Sound accounting competence, IFRS competence and experience is a plus
- Advanced Excel and Power Point skills is a requirement, HFM, Prolytics and consolidation system knowledge a strong advantage
- Solid level of written and spoken English is required
