For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $81,600 - $122,400 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. A PCS Specialist is responsible for providing preventative maintenance and repair services on ASCO equipment located at the customer’s establishment. The PCS Specialist operates independently in the field with limited supervision and demonstrates mastery of all brands of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), perform complete PCS start up on projects unassisted as the lead technician. Demonstrate proficiency of all ASCO communication products.
A PCS Specialist must be able to successfully complete and demonstrate all functions and responsibilities of an FSR and a SR FSR
This is a designated travel position where a qualified PCS Specialist travels to customer sites for extended durations. The PCS Specialist is assigned to jobs such as complex mods or startups that can last more than a year and include overseas assignments. This position requires strong technical capability as well as project management and detailed job reporting. A PCS Specialist must be able to successfully complete and demonstrate all functions and responsibilities of a Systems FSR as detailed below.
A Typical Day for You May Include:
- Ability to handle any job without onsite support from other techs from a technical level.
- Maintain current passport and ability to travel overseas as needed
- Maintain the ability to work away from home for up to three consecutive weeks at a time (includes weekends) on a rotational basis.
- Keep all other core responsibilities and job performance in good standing
- Work as assigned by local district manager when not away on assignment.
ESSENTIAL:
Maintenance and repair of Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Power Control Systems (PCS) and Communication products
ATS:
- Performs all service functions (startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and modifications) on all ASCO ATS product lines as well as other common manufacturers’ ATS
- Ability to interface and add ATS’ to a new PCS (engine start, load shed, communications)
PCS:
- Accurately markup PCS drawings during startup
- Demonstrates ability to respond to and resolve all PCS trouble calls
- Performs startup on Standby PCS systems as the lead FST, interfacing with various other trades, contractors and owners’ representatives
- Performs PCS modifications
Communications:
- Install, configure, test and troubleshoot all ASCO communications products including, CPMS
- Perform field modifications/changes on operator interface terminal (OIT) products
FSR Leadership
- Write appropriate Methods of Procedure (MOP) for all ATS or PCS service activities as required
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to qualify Field Service Representatives in ATS, PCS and communication product skills requirements
- Ability to take the lead role on a PCS commissioning project and be the day-to-day on-site manager, interfacing directly with other trades, contractors and/or end users involved in the project.
- Ability to work effectively across departmental boundaries within ASCO including the Engineering Department, Project Managers and the Sales organization
- Demonstrate the ability and willingness to mentor FSRs and SR FSRs
Service Administration and Reporting
- Complete ATS maintenance reports including summary page, equipment list, recommendations and ATS data sheets
- Accurately maintain and perform parts and tooling inventory counts
- Recognize service opportunities in the field and communicate them through proper channels
- Respond to and coordinate service delivery for emergency service requests within territory
INTERACTIONS:
Daily interactions include the District Service Manager, Customers, Contractors, peers, Service Administration team, ASCO cross functional teams (e.g., Sales, Project Management, Product Management and Engineering)
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Must be willing and able to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed to meet customer requirements.
- Travel is required. Willingness to travel outside of assigned territory, including overnight stays, as necessary to meet customer requirements.
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Job related military service (e.g., Naval Nuclear Electricians Mate or Air Force Power Production Technician) Technical School Certification or directly related field experience with Automatic Transfer Switches, Power Control Systems, or other low and medium voltage power applications
COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to read electrical schematic drawings
- Ability to read and understand electrical one-line diagrams
- Ability to use appropriate test equipment to troubleshoot and diagnose problems with Automatic Transfer Switches and Power Control Systems
- Demonstrate appropriate application of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to determine how long a repair will take and set/changes appointments, accordingly, anticipates problems and adjusts scheduled appropriately, updates work schedule calendar accordingly (if applicable).
COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- ASCO business/work order systems
- Knowledge of PLC programming software to communicate with the PLC to upload, download programs as needed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
While performing PCS Specialist job duties, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear and smell. The PCS Specialist is frequently required to sit, climb or balance. Required vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to regularly lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to work in an outdoor environment. Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
