The Division of Engineering Services (DES), Structures and Engineering Services, Office of Transportation Architecture, Building Office Engineer Branch, is recruiting for a Transportation Engineer (TE) (Civil) position, located in Sacramento.
Under direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer (Supervisor), Structures and Engineering Services, Office of Transportation Architecture, Building Office Engineer Branch, the Transportation Engineer (TE) (Civil) prepares complex cost estimates for buildings and transportation-related structures. The TE (Civil) provides the item costs for the Engineer's Estimate for all building and highway related structures. The TE (Civil) will also perform a wide variety of professional engineering work in either an office or field setting; as incumbents progress in experience they will be assigned more difficult work and may function as a lead person over the activities of various engineering and technical personnel; and do other related work.
Candidates are required to review the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) for this classification. If you meet MQs under Pattern II and require the TE Civil in-person written hurdle exam, DO NOT TAKE the TE Civil online exam prior to passing the written hurdle. Candidates who take the TE Civil online exam prior to passing the written hurdle may negatively impact their hiring eligibility.
