ASSOCIATE GOVERNMENTAL PROGRAM ANALYST
Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Manager of the Project and Infrastructure Relations unit, a Staff Services Manager I, the incumbent performs the more complex professional and technical analysis associated with a comprehensive program to inform the public and local agency partners of the District's and Department's programs and activities. This includes conducting and evaluating research to develop media and effective general communication campaigns; providing timely, accurate, and proactive responses to the media; responding to emergency situations requiring media and Headquarters debriefings; preparing briefs, reports, writing and editing documents; and supporting internal and external communications.
Eligibility for hire may be determined by your score on the Associate Governmental Program Analyst. For those who do not have current eligibility (e.g., transfer, permissive reinstatement, or voluntary demotions) and/or who will be new to state civil services employment, you must be on the state examination list to be eligible for these positions. Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate: Primary work area will be within the District Office in a climate controlled office under artificial lighting. Incumbent may be required to sit in the office for long periods of time using the computer and answering the phones. Travel throughout Riverside and San Bernardino counties to review projects, attend meetings, hearings and events sometimes at night and on weekends may be necessary.
