This Opportunity
WSP is initiating a search for an Environmental Engineer Consultant for our Rancho Cordova, California office! Be involved in projects with our Earth & Environment Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Perform field work: observations and data collection involving remedial engineering at sites including former mining facilities; and document field activities.
- Field activities may include oversight of subcontractors during investigation and/or remediation activities.
- Perform standard or routine calculations, input data into and/or run standard or, in some cases, advanced computer programs under supervision.
- Perform environmental and civil engineering activities in compliance with environmental laws, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Recognize and identify discrepancies in results obtained in such assignments and follow-up with senior personnel to resolve these situations.
- May be responsible for preparing complete drafts of simple, non-complex technical work plans and reports under the supervision of senior engineers.
- Under supervision of the project manager or senior staff, represent WSP USA and interact in a professional manner with clients, regulators, and subcontractor representatives while on field assignments.
- Understands and applies company, client, and site Health and Safety standards
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental, Civil, Sanitary, Chemical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Public Health Engineering, or closely related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years environmental experience; experience in fieldwork desirable.
- Must be a self-starter, team oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong work ethic with flexibility to work outside normal business hours, as required; field activities may require working in unfavorable weather condition or hazardous materials and in hazardous conditions.
- Must pass drug test, physical, background check and must have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (Motor Vehicle Safety) policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Engineer in Training Certification.
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.

Compensation
Expected Salary (California): $72,200- $99,330
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
