Job Description Qualifications:
The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Environmental Engineer/Scientist (Mid-Level or Senior) to join our Global Environmental Compliance and Permitting team in El Segundo, CA.
Come join the Boeing Environmental Engineering team at out Boeing El Segundo site! A successful candidate will be part of the El Segundo Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team and a leader with strong environmental knowledge and experience.
This position will require a candidate with knowledge and experience across multiple environmental media types including: Air Quality, Hazardous Waste, Industrial Waste Water, Storm Water, etc; this positions primary role will be Air Quality.
The El Segundo site is home to the satellite systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with manufacturing operations in a heavy manufacturing environment to ensure environmental compliance is maintained across several programs. A successful candidate will possess experience interacting with regulatory agencies.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops, implements and monitors environmental management systems, processes and programs
Assesses the impact of emerging environmental issues, legislation and regulations on company operations
Acts as primary site interface with regulatory agencies, South Coast Air Quality Management Division (SCAQMD)
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelors of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
3+ years of experience with environmental engineering over multiple media types (chemical, air, waste water, storm water, hazardous waste etc.)
1+ years of environmental engineering supporting heavy manufacturing
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
5+ years of experience with environmental engineering over multiple media types (chemical, air, waste water, storm water, hazardous waste etc.)
3+ years of environmental engineering supporting heavy manufacturing
Experience with environmental regulations for the Southwest
Aerospace environmental control experience
Aerospace NESHAP and Air Quality regulations and an understanding of the application of the regulations in a manufacturing environment
Typical Education/Experience:
Mid-Level (Level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Senior (Level 4)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:

Summary pay range for Mid-Level: $96,500 - $129,950
Summary pay range for Senior Level: $117,300 - $158,700
